8th District Pension News
Effective July 1, 2009 the 8th District Pension multiplier will decrease from 2.3% to 1.5%. The Pension Protection Act of 2006, along with losses suffered in the 4th Quarter of 2008 required the Plan to re-adjust to insure present and future member retirement funding. When the fund returns to 105%, with actuarial direction, the multiplier will increase 1/10 of 1% per year. The Plan is still reliable funded and has no adverse effects for current retirees.
